In 2009, Bitcoin was launched as an electronic cash. The data structure underlying Bitcoin is referred to as “Blockchain”. Over the last decade, the field of blockchain and, generally, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), has evolved to encompass a collection of novel distributed computer network architectures implemented using various consensus protocols, data structures, and economic incentive models. This talk will provide an overview of blockchain/DLT applications in startups, enterprises, and government services. Also, this talk will share some perspectives on the recent developments in Metaverse and Web 3.0.
