Tutorial: From 1 to 100: Standardization in the Communication Industry Part 1

This tutorial gave a broad overview of standardization. During Ruiqi's experience attending IEEE conferences throughout the years, he noticed that many students and professors have strong interests in participating in industrial activities such as standardization, while they lack the basic knowledge. He also assisted some professors in converting their work into standards, and it turned out to be quite fruitful. Thus, he believes that the research outcomes from the academia are solid and ready, while what is missing is enough awareness and knowledge on standardization: what matters, how it works and how to make your work impactful. In this tutorial, he introduced the ABCs of standardization for communication industry, with rich and most up-to-dated information as well as detailed case studies. After hearing this toturial, the audience had a basic understanding to understand why standardization is needed in the communication industry, how it works, and how to participate if desired.
